50 animals rescued today!!!

http://www.kcra.com/news/15971865/detail.html#

This is the rescue I volunteer at look at the pictures. 50 animals were rescued today by The Grace Foundation of Northern California. These animals are in horrid condition the horses have not been trimmed in so long that they look like sleds.

That is so sick. How can anyone do that? If you can't afford to keep them then GIT RID OF THEM TO SOMEONE WHO WILL. Sorry for yelling but this is uncalled for. I am an animal person. I like them better then most people I know. Why not give them to a home that will take care of them instead of keeping them just to say you have them? ARRRGGGG!! Some people should be made live and die the same way they let their animals. Just my opinion.

OMG! I have NEVER seen hooves like that. Even WILD horses don't get in that shape

Hmmm, hubby drives a truck and is taking a load to WA. Maybe he could bring one of the poor critters home

From what I understand.. and this is only hearsay... is that the animals were fed and watered.. and that was it...

The owners were the ones who called AC and surrendered all the animals. At least that is what I was told from a friend who works at AC.

That is all I know.

Wow, and I thought the feet on the horses we rescued last year were bad! I don't know if they will ever be able to bring those horses feet back to even near normal. That's truly a shame. I hope things work out well for all those animals.

If the owners are the ones to turn themselves in they should of done it a couple years ago. The Grace foundation is a good one. They have helped many.

the horses in the photos did look to be in ok weight but the state of their feet and thus legs - so sad.

I have been at the rescue saturday and sunday and most of the horses are not at the proper body weight they are underweight with hip bones and ribs petruding. She must have been friendly to the animals as they are all nice. The hooves are in horrid condition as you can see in the pictures but they were all evaluated today so our vet has to run some tests on there bone structure before we fix their hooves. And the sheep were all sheered and they are very very skinny they are friendly too. But we filled about 30 75 gallon bags of sheep wool.

post any question and i will try to answer.
