5 Year old TB/QH Gelding PIC HEAVY

I don't know his breeding, sorry, but I can give you this:
this is the horse I lease, he's a 5 year old bay TB/QH, he's closer to a TB though in the sense of his height (he's around 16.3) and SENSITIVE skin.
His owner says he's worth around $10,000. He has shown locally and done very well. He was at the Skidmore Eq Finals the otherweekend, and was super! This horse is worth his weight in gold. ^^ Below was the first time I rode him at a show a little over a month ago.
Sorry about the angles of the photos, I was riding. ;P I was only competing in the fifth one. The rest I was warming up or getting critique from the judge. Can you critque both of us? I was riding in Pre-Special Hunters.
And I know I needed to pick up my hands, I've worked on that.
And he needs a whisker trim, I know. It was a small show so we didn't clip.

He is so cute. He look so sweet. He looks really relaxed too. For you~ you twist when you post and you need to drop your sturips for flat work their too high for flatwork. Also how old are you if your over 11 skip the jodie straps and get some feild boots. It looks childish if yor over 11 and you look to be around 13-14(if not I'm sorry) Good luck with him

the angles are a bit hard to see from, but it looks like you lean to the inside. Not horribly, but enough to notice.

Agreed about jods .. its my understanding that if your in braids and bows you should be in straps ... if your hair is up, get yourself some tall boots .... however, i know there could be alot of things factoring into that (money/time/growth/age/showing level/ etc.) but it never hurts to point it out ;]

you guys looks cute though!

I'm 11--my hair was in a braid, it was just hard to tell. I'm going to wear field boots next year or the year after, though.
Yes he's very sweet, and behaves suprisingly well for a young horse! I have ridden the brattiest green ponies that will bolt+buck at a HORSE NEIGHING, but he only falters a little at "spooky" objects. ^^

My lips get very dry when I ride, so I lick them a lot. That's probably what I was doing. xD

You guys look cute, but since I'm guessing you're on the TCRA/CDHJC circuit(if you're not, sorry! But if so, awesome because it's always nice to see someone else from Upstate NY) if you're riding in Pre-Special Hunters and he was ridden at Skidmore, as I recall, the only people riding with jods and garters where in the beginner divisions. You should definitely be wearing field boots with your hair up in a hairnet (I can't really tell if you are or not). If you're doing Pre-Specials over fences, you should definitely move up into field boots.

For being a 5 year old, he must be very well behaved. He also has an adorable face. Would love to see him stepping out into a better hunter frame at the trot. As for you, you look like you're leaning a little too much onto him and pinching to the inside and need to pick up your hands and look straight... most of the pictures have you tilting your head to the inside.
