38" Mini mare and Haflinger cross mare for sale in northern Michigan

Well, I am downsizing a bit. I had Lizzie sold, but the buyer defualted on her payments, so she is up for sale again, and this time Blaze is for sale along with her.

Here are a couple of pictures of Lizzie, the Mini mare:

Lizzie is approximately 9 years old, and about 38 inches tall. I thought I had her sold but the buyer has backed out. She is a sweet little girl, who was treated kind of bad in the past by past owners. She has had children on her back, but she needs to have adult supervision. She has never offered to kick me or one of my children, and will stand very nicely to get her feet done or to be groomed. She can get a little silly when it is time to be caught, but if you just extend your hand and speak calmly she settles right down. She is not aggressive, just timid because of the bad things that were done to her before I bought her. I have had her for about a year and a half. Again, no reasonable offer refused. Asking $250 OBO.

I am also selling my blue eyed Haffie cross mare:

Blaze is an approx 16 year old Haflinger (paint?) cross. SHe is about 14.1HH. She will accept a person on her back, but is less than green broke. She is absolutely gorgeous, with a bright chestnut coat and flazen mane and tail (tail hangs almost to the ground,) and two bright blue eyes. She has a big hip and an arched neck, and the solidity of the Haflinger.

She is a tiny bit underweight right now. We purchased her a year ago while she was in foal to a quarter horse stallion. She had her baby in April, and when he hit about 2 months old, she dropped some weight, but did it very rapidly. He is now 5 months old and almost as tall as his momma, and I think the only way she is going to put the weight back on is to seperate them, because she was a good weight previously, and we are feeding her well. She is just giving a lot to her baby.

Blaze is slightly less than green broke. She will accept a person on her back. I have worked with her sacking her out with ropes and other objects, and saddle blankets, I have had a saddle on her but not cinched it, because she was massively pregnant. Myself and my farrier have worked with her manners on getting her feet handled, he estimated that it had been three years or more since they had been done. She has been in a hackamore, but needs some more work with backing. She is by no means a stupid horse, and is very willing for someone who has time to work with her. She leads just fine, and has no catch issues. She trailers very well, suprisingly, since she had not been off the farm for more than ten years when I bought her. Her previous owners were very funny about her past, they said that they had owned her for over ten years, but they could tell me hardly anything about her. She was used as a broodmare.

I do believe that Blaze had some training at some point in her life, she almost appears to have been broke for driving at one time. She resonds to a tap on her hip with a forward motion, and responds well to pressure.

One other thing I should note, she has a small scar on the front of her leg, she managed to cut herself in between when I paid for her and when I picked her up, but it was surface only and caused no lasting injury.

    No reasonable offer refused.
    Asking $300 OBO

I would prefer to have first right of refusal on both of these girls; In other words, if they were to ever be sold, I would like to have a chance to buy them back first.

I will sell these girls in a package deal for $400. I just need to downsize a little bit before winter. I am also open to trades. Here are a few suggestions:

    Full trade:
    farm truck
    snowmobile
    4 or 3 wheeler
    dirt bike
    tractor (lawn, garden, whatever)
    4 wheeled golf cart
pair of Fainting goats (buck and doe)
Mini gelding or small pony gelding
    Mini mule
    Mini donkey
Building materials (lumber, steel siding, etc.)
    generator
    trailer
horse drawn cart, Haflinger or pony/mini sized
    camper
75 bales of first cutting horse hay (50lb or larger)
5 round bales or horse hay (500 lbs or larger)

    Partial trade:
    laying hens
    peafowl
    geese
Pygmy or Nigerian dwarf goats (does please)
    lesser amount of hay

Make a suggestion! There are always things that we can use just as much as cash. If you have something laying around that you can trade, the worst we can do is say no, so give it a shot!

Please PM me for more information. I am located in Harrietta, MI, which is just south of Traverse City. I live right on M-37, and my zip is 49638. I can not deliver the horses, I am sorry, you must pick up. My truck is getting too old for long distance hauls.

    Thanks,
    Kristina

I am surprised I am selling Blaze... and really it is because of Brego. I am so wrapped up in this little dude that it isn't funny, and I want her to go to a home where she will be used.

    I wish I was closer.
My friend trains driving horses and I have been looking for a mini.
    I'd take them both.
Sadly I live in Colorado and shipping would be way out of my budget.

Yeah, that distance thing is the kicker every time.

Hi Haley, I haven't really been on all that much, ususally only a couple of times a week. Brego is getting big, I taped him a couple weeks ago at 11.2HH and he just turned 5 months. Looks like he is gonna be taller than momma.

(BTW, my mares are still for sale, lol!)
