3 point position

After not actively riding for a couple years, I'm trying to get back into the saddle. Remembering everything is a bit hard. I can't justify lessons atm. (Perhaps in a couple weeks after I get back into shape a bit)

What is proper 3 point position? How do I achieve it? What are the pit falls to avoid?

3 point? I've never heard of three point. Is that like two point... except a canter?

or what? haha... I'd be interested in hearing the answer to your question...

I think it's a 2 point.

3 point - 3 points of contact with your seat and legs. I can't remember the exact points, hence the threads and questions

Okay, for some reason the only thing I could think of was a 2 point. I never heard of 3 points! Learn something new every day!

Are you talking about fully sitting in the saddle? Or are you talking about a "light" seat where you are more forward over your pubic bone? (wonder if that word will go through )

I need to master the 2 point too! That's always been a weakness of mine.

3 point position is when your shoulder, hip, heel line up. 2 point is when your hip/heel line up.

The fact that 3 pieces and 2 pieces of your anatomy happen to have contact with the horse respectively is unrelated.

3 point is what most people would consider a 'neutral' position on the horse. What should automatically be assumed unless something else is desired.

Well, I'm talking more of a secure seat.
