3 day clinic with Sam

This weekend I had Sam out at a three day clinic with a really great instructor.

The first two days were great - we seemed to come on leaps and bounds. Today was not so good tho. Sam was tired and he is very grumpy when he is tired.

The instructor recognised that he was tired - so we worked on some easier work for him

We got some fantastic free walk - he was really over tracking and taking the contact down

And we had some nice trot to halts - good and square

I was really pleased with the work we did

She is coming back in May so I will certainly book in again

Just thought I would share my great weekend

Very good! Things are progressing for you guys then! I bet you will be anxious for another clinic with her

It's nice when clinicians are willing to work with you, and seeing that Sam was tired, she didn't work him harder - upseting him more.

I really wish I could a lesson with her once a week - she was so good. As Shotgun said it is nice when they dont just ignore the fact that the horse is tired - he was - both mentally as well as physically

Unfortunately she lives in England - near Oxford - so I will only get to see her once every couple of months

Ah well - gives me time to work on what she is showing us

glad you got the chance to work with her and will again in the future. Sounds like she was really attentive to Sam and I would like that

That is good to hear. A good trainer is worth their weight in gold, both for horse and rider.

You just can not help but love Sam. He is such a good horse. I am glad he is sound and you can enjoy him. I know he is as well.

Sounds like it was helpful to both of you! Too bad he got a little grumpy today.
