I rode this horse yesterday DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 1030577 I know he is only 3, (just turned 3 last month)but some 3 y/o horses are more broke then others. Well, this boy is not all that broke. I don't have any pictures of me riding him, only video, but the 60 y/o woman who owns him rode him in what she is wearing in the picture!!! Yes, no helmet, half pants, nylons, and sandals with a heel!!! Also she didn't want me to come until after 7:00pm so it was getting dark. All in all, Poncho was a very good boy, just not good enough. I would no way ride him double with Loren. Poncho's registration papers are a mess also and it would cost $600 to get them figured out. I was not too happy about his confo either. He looked like a 2 y/o and his back and hind end were very weak. He should not have been broke to ride until he was 4. His feet were very long and she said he had just got them trimmed. She has owned him for 6 months and wormed him 5 times already. (Kind of weird I think) He is advertized at 15 hands, but I think he is only about 14.2 or 3 maybe. After a good trim he would be even shorter! So we are passing him by. He was fun to ride, although I didn't get to ride him in a good spot at all, or over a walk and kind of a slow gait, but it was fun anyway. I could be seen on a Peruvian Paso horse. He will make a good horse for someone some day.

Sorry things didn't work out. That woman must be crazy riding in sandals. Even at my barn before they made the recent improvments there is a rude that says close-toed shoes are a must in the barn at all times. I think horses should be started when they're 3, but not ridden until they are 4. But, it really depends on the horse themself. Some horses just arn't ready at 2 and 3 to be saddled up and ridden.

I sometimes do to, ever since Jazz stepped on my foot, i always point my toes in(like when I load them in the trailer, I get unconfortable like they are going to step on me. ) And then when I ride, then I'm on thier back so I don't worry about it, the stirrup cuts my foot though. And when I'm bareback I loose my sandals.

If I wanted a good prodject horse, I would have bought him for sure. Tomorrow we are looking at a Rocky Mountian mare. I can't wait to ride her. She is 12 and broke broke broke (So they say BADA BING This 6 yo mare, 14.3h is registered and certified RMHA & KMSHA. Bada Bing has excelled both in the show ring and on the trails. She has had many different riders on her back in the show ring and was always in the top ribbons as a classic going horse. Her sire is Barlow Chief. She currently has a foal by her side but has not been bred back.
