2008 Stallion Choices *Added Videos*

I am looking for a stallion for 1 of my mares I think I have it narrowed down to 3.

First here's the mare. She's a Section B Welsh pony.

What I am trying to accomplish is to add height to her. She is 12.3 and my goals are to breed ponies that are 13.1 to 13.2

So here are the choices.

Gayfields Call The Cops

Goldhills Welsh - Section B Welsh Ponies and Section D Welsh Cobs

Goldhills Most Wanted

BridleWood Welsh Stallions

*Wedderlie Mardi Gras

Section B Welsh Pony stallion - *Wedderlie Mardi Gras

Thanks

I don't know anything, but something about the last one really catches my attention. His head is beatiful.

I am pretty much clueless when it comes to breeding though, and their is more to a horse that a pretty face, haha.

Good luck deciding!

I agree. I dont know much about ponies but the last one has a MUCH nicer neck and head than the other 2. He looks like a stud welsh farm near us. Dragon's lair.

I like the 1st one,
then the 3rd one, I don't like his neck.
then the 2nd one.

But I don't know much about pony conformation.

3rd one - first
1st one - second
2nd one - last

The 2nd one has no neck at all ... the 3rd one has a superior topline and front end and I love his shoulder
The first one I "dont mind" but thats no reason to want to breed a mare to him ...

I know nothing of breed standards for Welsh. That being said, on an overall impression - #1 the best. Not wild about #2 and #3 is just plain grotesque - nothing goes together.

Here are my reasons for the 3 I chose. I really appreciate the opinions given.

Call the cops is the top sire in the country. His offspring have the most point earned last show season. Their pedigrees together would be hard to beat.

Most Wanted is a son of Call the cops who has movement like you cannot believe.

Mardi Gras is the up and coming champion on the west coast. He was imported from Wales which is a big plus as his bloodlines aren't flooded in the US. Plus look at him, he's gorgeous.
