2004 perlino stallion

This is a colt that a friend of mine is considering buying. I do not want this to turn into a debate on whom should breed, or that no one should be breeding. I asked what you think of this colt, not for your opinions on the market, slaughter, etc. Thank you.

His lines,

These are from his 3 year old year. Im sorry they are not ideal, its all Iv been sent.

Me likey.

There's not a shot among those on which I'd be comfortable evaluating his legs, though. He's standing funny in every shot! I'd be tempted to ask for one last definitive shot of him squared up before I went further.

He is gorgeous. I see the same awkwardness about him with his legs. I cant quite put my finger on it.

I know, his legs had me worried as well. However theres evidence that his owners have been stingy on farrier care.

So until those feet get cleaned up and balanced...

He is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!
I agree about what is being said about his legs.... The first pic of him, his legs look fine but the rest of the pics make them look awkward. Try to get a straight on pic of the front and back legs.

Yeah, I can see what you mean about his feet... especially in the canter shot.

If his legs are really wonky, they're not too wonky... not too bad for a gelding, anyway. So it could go either way. Either he's a neat little stallion after some decent farrier work, or he's a neat little gelding! Either way I really like him.

I like him, but I am biased.

However he does have hind leg problems, or he is just not standing up correctly. He seems "run under" with his hocks, and his pasterns are really short and his ankles look a bit puffy because of it, again though, it could just be the way he is standing.

He's so pretty!

In the last picture, he looks a bit over at the knee...

He's definitely got a nice overall build and look, but I'm with the rest of the wagon in that I don't feel comfortable evaluating his legs. THOUGH, I am willing to bet that after looking at all these pictures he is rather sickle-hocked.

In the first picture, he looks camped under and base narrow in front. He really looks sickle hocked here and his pasterns, especially his hinds, appear dreadfully short. His stifles just look...weird.

In the second picture, he looks sickle hocked as well as cowhocked. He even looks toed in at the knee in his RF.

The last picture I don't even want to judge as he's just not standing anywhere near square. The sickle hocks are really apparent and his front legs...Just won't say anything.

I wouldn't be surprised to see pictures of him nice and square with near-perfect legs, but I don't think the sickle hocks and short rear pasterns are going to "go away."

I really like the rest of him though!!
