He will let you know if it's too much for him...I say give it a try and see how it goes.

As long as you keep an eye on him to see how he's handling it he'll be fine. You'll know if it get's to be too much. I have a 30 yo QH/Arab that can still handle himself on a 2'6" course (not that we do them very often). His biggest thing is that all the jumps try to eat him Karen |

I jumped my 25 year old arab over 2'3" and he was blind in one eye. He loved it. As long as he gets a good warmup and a good walk out at the end he will be just fine. If he likes it then it will be good for him.

Hey, if he's willing, healthy, and everything fits right (tack, shoes, etc), then there's no reason why he can't jump. If he doesn't have any problems going on with joints, then I'd say you're pretty safe. I know a lot of people who jump their older horses.

Check out the horse ages at many Olympics. I remember one very famous German horse, who was in the Olympics - Halla- she was 21.

This boy is 19 or 20 and absolutely loves to jump. If the horse is okay with it, and it doesn't cause pain or discomfort, go for it!
