2 year old + new neighbor = Sutures!

Well, Jack got a new 'neighbor' a few days ago, everything was going well, didn't hear any reports of fighting or either of them being stressed...well, that all changed Sturday night/Sunday morning.

I get a phone call "Jack cut his face open, you may want to come look at it"

Sure enough, he cut his face open! Nothing too long, or super wide, but it was clean and deep, down to the bone.

Evidently Saturday night him and the new pony-neighbor were going at it, biting eachother, running back and forth, kicking at eachother, etc. But the grooms said it died off...and then started again Sunday morning which is when grooms saw Jack rear up, somehow smack his face on the TOP of the cover of his stall and tear down the rain gutter resulting in his lovely cut. I forgot to grab my camera yesterday to take before and during pictures of the suturing, but here's todays:

I cringe seeing how close that is to his eye. He was very lucky.

Poor sweetheart! That is alarmingly close to the eye. Best wishes for a fast, full recovery.

I agree with the others, that is one lucky horse to still have an eye.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for him.
