2 Ponies in Northwestern NC need a home...

I have two ponies that need to be re-homed. Both would make great pasture ornaments, and possibly projects to an experienced home. I am in NW North Carolina, about an 1 1/2 hours outside Charlotte. I will be willing to deliver them within a reasonable distance (3-4 hours out, possibly more to the right home.)

The first is Kaya Mae, a long yearling QH filly that is going to stay pony sized. I've had her from birth (did not breed, bought the mare pregnant), but I sadly can't afford to keep her. She is an absolute princess with a puppy-dog personality. She would make a pretty companion horse, or possibly someday carry small children.

The second is Codee, a pony "mutt" that I saved from an abusive home but can no longer keep. I have put tons of time into gaining his trust, and he now stands for baths and the farrier, as well as some clipping. He is 12-13 hands I believe, but can jump 4' on the lunge. He would be great to an experienced home, as he needs to be started from the ground up, as well as have the time taken to re-gain his trust in a new home.

If you can help them, please let me know. It's getting harder and harder for me to find money, and they deserve the best.

Just giving this a bump. Looks like these guys need a home if someone would take them. Can we assume they are free?

Thank you for bumping this up.

Yes, they are free.

They are like my children, but things around here are getting worse and worse and the time has come to find them new lives that can be better than things have gotten here.

Oh, if I was closer to you I would scoop them right up!

Good luck in finding them good homes!

would you think that either of them would end up being child safe if worked with? I dont live far from you and have been looking for something for my 5 year old boy to someday use for trail ridding

thank yo so much.
It seems like I'll need all the luck I can get nowadays.

If anyone is interested, we can transport them probably up to 4 or 5 hours.

A very experienced breeder came to my house when I was on vacation and looked her over. He said that she has some type of defect that affected her growth. I wasn't able to get that confirmed by a vet, but she hasn't grown an inch in months and months and she is going to be 2 in February. She is 12-13 hands now as far as I remember (I just measured her recently) and it seems that she will stay that way (going by the lack of any real growth even thought she is at the "growing age")

They both look like they would be great little project horses, Equine747. The price is certainly right and the owner is willing to haul. What more could you ask for. The condition they are in would make them pretty quiet and as you get them back in shape, you could be doing some training to keep them well behaved. Sounds like a perfect situation, if you have the room and time.

I do have room and since my son is started in school now I also have some time on my hands if I have a babysitter for my youngest son. I just really hope that one of them could end up being safe for my son to ride on trails with my because I hate going alone. I just know that he really needs something with no go to it, one that you would have to really push to go faster you know.
