Any luck with homes yet? I can't believe these 2 haven't been snatched up yet. They're the perfect age for a little project for someone.

Not yet. Someone should be coming to see kaya mae next week. I had some interest in Codee from Equine.com, but haven't heard back yet so until then I'm trying to get them fattened up. Codee is on grass, and kaya has free choice hay. Both with grain twice a day (kaya can only be turned loose in the unfenced yard with someone there like because she walks right through the fencing like its not there so she gets a couple hours of grass.)

awh well we have someone coming next week to see her, but if they decide they don't want her, we could definitely at least drive her halfway there if you would be willing to meet us.

Also, does anyone have any good remedies for rain rot? She has come down with a pretty bad case and I am treating it with the equitek (i think) gel as well as the purple listerine, but does anyone have any faster and better remedies?

An old vet gave me some "Sulfamethoxazole And Trimethoprim" tablets for my ollld mare when she came down with rainrot and an abcess, so I was going to email him and see if it would be okay to give to the filly as well.

You can use SMZ'z for rain rot, don't remember the dosage though. The best I have heard for rainrot is scrubbing with iodine surgical scrub, and then dousing with equitech or the full strength listerine. Hate the stuff, my one mare for some reason keeps getting it on one leg, but I haven't done much to get rid of it other then scratching at it with the curry and then spraying the microtech. I get it gone, then forget to check and it pops back up. Thankfully its not the bad stuff just the little itty bitty scabs.

Thank you for that. These are the double-strength pills, 800mg, so I was thinking maybe half a pill twice a day.

Hers is pretty bad over her back, so i really need to get to work getting it gone.

You can also use Apple Cider Vinegar to kill rain rot So you dont think that the chestnut Codee could end up being child safe? I really like him but can only get him if he would be good for my kids

Codee

He COULD possibly with a lot of time and work and dedication, but I feel that it would be irresponsible for me to give a flat "yes", no matter how much I need him to go to a good home, it is also my responsibility to keep people safe. I would love to give you a definite yes on being a child's pony, especially since I would love for him to be, but I don't know for sure that would be the path he ends up going to. In my opinion it truly depends on how he connects with his new family and how much work gets put into his training and turning him around from his past.
