I live in Iowa and haven't heard of this.

All the news stations covered it, and the Cedar Rapids Gazette ran at least 2 articles that I know of. It happened around March 11 -- haven't heard anything new.

I saw on the news this morning that all the horses have new homes...Folks made applications to take them, and there were more homes than horses, so they did a lottery. The original owner is facing animal neglect charges.
