I have been there for many pregnancies... Do not worry... mares have done this for years. Even if there is a problem there is nothing that you can do to change things so do not blame yourself. Just be quiet and watch. If there is a problem call the vet. Maybe you will get really lucky and the mare will wait for your Mom to get home. I had one mare that was two weeks late and everything was fine on arrival... except the weather! We had a heck of a storm and everything was muddy. So muddy the foal could not stand by itself. I found a great use for a used political sign... placed the colt on it to drag it through the mudd to grass. LOL He was huge... 42" at the withers at birth. Weighted too much for my DH (dear Husband) to pick up... hence the dragging on the used political sign.
Good luck and I am praying that the foal holds out for you. Let us know how your mare is acting. Is she acting restless and kicking at her belly (holding her legs up in a strange way) or biting at her sides? What day was she bred on?
