16.2hh Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding Give Away To Good Home (AUS only)

My friend can no longer ride due to health reasons (cancer) and wishes to give away her horse to a good home.

Name: Cruise
Racing Name: Pacific Promise
Age: 6
Height: 16.2hh
Colour: Chestnut

Cruise has been minimally raced and has spent the last 3 years of his life as a pleasure horse. I have had the task of riding him over the last few months. He is good to float, shoe, deworm, great with traffic and with dogs (I ride with my dog and he's fine with that but he gets a little agitated when larger dogs start barking). He doesn't bite, buck or kick and is a very relaxed horse. He prefers walk/trot and needs to be pushed into a canter.

He has had some minor back problems in the past but that has now been rectified with chiropractic work and correct saddle fitting (the saddle was the biggest problem). He loves to jump and would make a great allrounder.

PM me if you want more photos or would like to know more.

Here is his pedigree

EDIT - He would probably do better in a southern climate as the heat has been knocking him around a bit. He is in a light condition at the moment as the people who leased him didn't really think to feed him enough.

He's a gorgeous animal. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, I hope she beats this cancer so she can get back to riding and horses.

Trump Card - He is 50km South East of Darwin in the Northern Territory. It would cost about $1500 to transport him to VIC. I can't be sure exactly how well he'd go at making an eventer as he has had no formal jumping training. He has only jumped obstacles on trail rides but he does so willingly. He also has good fluid movement for dressage though it will take some time to harness that under saddle as he is rather uneducated and has only been taught basic transitions from halt to canter as well as some leg yeilding exercises and vertical flexion. He is starting to understand how to 'round' himself and work from behind yet it will take some time before that is cemented in. He has basically been used as a trail horse since coming off the racetrack.

If you wish to inquire about a quote for transport, it the best bet would be to contact IDANO Horse Transport on (07) 4922 2556 or 0417 627 844.

Madvoice - please excuse some of the questions in my PM. I see some of the answers here

You know the more I look at him the more I like him... its scary.

Im not great at judging confo so do you think you could point out his good points and bad points?

I'd like to be able to show him sometime and it wuold be good to know now, if he looks ok lol (he actually looks conformationally very much like Denzell)

I would be wanting to do hacking, dressage, SJ and possibly eventing at some stage with him... but if none of that works out I would really love another nice quiet trail horse because I can seriously not stand Jeda lately!!!
