10 digit dialing...

is driving me CRAZY!!! LOL! Alberta just recently moved to this...now you have to dial the area code before even local numbers. If you don't, this recording comes and tells you that you have to, and then you connect. Starting in September you have to do it or the call won't go through at all.

I am soooo used to not having to dial it, and it's so much quicker not too LOL I swear if I hear that recording one my time I am going to scream!

Does anywhere else have this 10 digit dialing now too??

Haha, BC had 10 digit calling a while ago (about 5 years give or take a year). It was so weird to dial out the area code at first, but now it's weird NOT dialing it.

BC has a bunch or area codes now. We have 604 for the lower mainland, 250 for the interior/ Island, and 778 for cell phones.

Wow, the states have been doing that for some time now. Some cities, like mine, even have up to three area codes for one city.

I just add the area code anyway here in Colorado now. Back in my home town it's so small you don't have to. But where I am living now on the front range there are three different area codes all smashed together so if you don't who knows who you'll end up calling.

LOL, you will get used to it, our state switched over to that a few years back...and we have two area codes in this tiny state! It took me a while to get used to it.....but I feel you pain!

My phone service provider makes me enter the area code before every call, too. I used to hate it, but now I do the area code even if I'm using my house phone and it's not necessary. Trust me, you'll get used to it!
