I just bought a Friesian gelding. His registered name is "Bauke fan Ealsum"--completely unsuitable for a barn name. I need something simple that I can yell across the paddock. He's obviously very black, very hairy, and very big. I thought of calling him "Hagrid" from Harry Potter, or "Fezzick" after the giant in The Princess Bride. But neither of these rolls off the tongue, and I haven't seen anything that really tickles my fancy.

Yes, that's him at Henswoude, but the pics are terrible. Here are some better ones: www.blacksterlingfriesians.com/Baukefan/Thumbs1.htm

Even these don't do him justice. And his dressage is even better than the ad would indicate. 'Course, on my budget, I may be eating macaroni and cheese for a LONG time...

Oh WOW [Smile] He's so handsome! Just curious, but how much did you pay for this fellow? And you imported him from Denmark? Jeeze!

I envy you
