My fiance and I have recently acquired (read giveaway) a 16hh Bay TB Gelding with the racing name of Poetic Troubador. What do you guys think of using that for a show name? His paddock name is Syd (what he came with and answers to) so I'd like to steer away from that if there are any other suggestions

I really like that name. I don't see why you can't use it as a show name. My TB's racing name was Up My Alley and I'm going to show him with that (barn name is Bucky).

if he's got a nice name why think up a new one. We rack our brains on here all the time, its probably more hassle than its worth. Lou

I really like your TB racing name!!! I don't think you should change it.

I'm thinking of showing him in the hack ring as well as dressage and a bit of jumping. He'll have to wait quite a while for the jumping as the reason we got him for free was that he had a superficial suspensory tendon injury (not that you can tell). He's almost a warmblood typ so when he puts the weight on (he's dropped condition a little due to having very painful abscesses) he'll look absolutely stunning
