OK someone please help me. We are seriously considering a horse named Mama. If anyone here has a horse with that name please don't take offense, but we just cannot live with that name! We are trying to think of names that are similar sounding, since this horse is 17 and probably knows her name quite well. The two we've come up with so far are Mona and Mara. Please help me think of others in case we decide to buy her I'd like to have a good list to choose from. Thanks.

I knew a mare called Marney, I thought this was a nice unusual name for a mare.
By keeping the the Ma' she would proberbly adapt to it.
I do like the name Summer though - that is sweet ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

When I was looking on Equine.com for a prospect I saw a horse by the name of Fudge Packer. Now come on, how would you like that to be announced at a show!!!

Judging from these comments, I guess I have to admit that Mama is not THE most ridiculous name I've ever heard.... but still intolerable! We made jokes about it all the way home, like someone will call for Mama and we'll have to say we've got to catch her, she's out in the pasture grazing! Ha Ha! Can't believe how many lame jokes you can make out of that name!

Mama isn't terrible, but it's not the worst I've heard of, lol! There's a registered walker named "Mama's Hands" and one named "Figgy Puddin" Cute, but unusual, lol! The best one's I've EVER heard of are "Sofa King Slow" a WP QH (you have to say the name out loud to get the effect, but kinda funny!) and "Bridge's Maxi Pad" Poor horses! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I am not very good at choosing names but these were two filly choices that I remember being told before our colt was born!
Amade Farasha (ah-mah-dee fa-ra-sha) Trans: Darling butterfly Azale Ferdous (ah-zah-lee fer-dows) Trans: Eternal Paradise
We didn't have a filly so obviously we didn't choose either of these names, but I liked them because they were different! I hope that you find a name that fits!

Here is my horse's name. (Mind you I was STUPID when I did it)
Hollywood Jetbarlena
His Sire is Coral Jaybarlena and his Dam is Miss Dolly Darling. He happened to have Hollywood in his line, so I stole that one and mixed it up. I kinda regret doing it now. But it is done and I learned my naming lesson the hard way.

Jumpers you crack me up. You have to have a kewl name to go with a kewl horse. Like "In it to win it," "Mr. Zippity Dew," I mean come on. What are your horses registerd names? Joes registerd nam is "Caan Lope." Dews registerd name is "Dewddet of Sunnybroke Farms." Although Dew is a TB. I guess some people like me and my mom get a little carried away with the names of our horses. We have all these little nicknames for Joe like Joeford, Jorford Marie, Zoe, Zorford. My sister and I love just singing to them and repeating thir names over and over again. We even have our own little song for them. Here it is, its from that song, Should of Been a Cowboy, but we made it into, Should of Been a Cattle horse. Should of been a cattle horse. Should of learn to cut and rein. Wearing my saddle, Carring my owner on a cattle drive. Stealing a young mares heart. Just like Joe and Duke. Winning those campfire songs. Should of been a cattlehorse. My sister and I have all these little quirks and songs and lines and nicknames for pones and Joe. I even had a wedding with my horse with my two aunts and dad and uncle and sister. We just get carried away with these silly horses. ![[Cool]](cool.gif)

Yup I've heard some woppers before to - people must have done them during a night of partying or something (j/k)
Dinky Can You Do It? ... no comment
Rubicon (Ruby-con) - for a gelding, and they called him Ruby for short (if that wouldn't give him a complex I don't know what else would)- he was dark bay by the way (hehe)
I agree I'm not found of Mama - but someone mentioned Mambo, that I think is neat! But Summer is also nice.
That poor "Fudge Packer" horse, his owner must have had a grudge against him or something!

Then of course there's the Creamello Quarter Horse (or whatever he is) named Cream Your Genes.
I MEAN COME ON! That is HORRIBLE!
