With the chat room our times are different by five hours that makes it hard sometimes. I just log in on weekends in the morning and evening (unless I am home sick and can't go out and ride at all), so when it is evening here you are already in bed. But I bet others could meet you in the chat room.

Sure we call it schooling. They say every time you get on a horse or pony you are training him or schooling him. Even when you are just having fun he is remembering things about the ride.

Do you have a riding instructor to help you with Mr. Bad Pony?

I think you are saying the horse sticks on the rail and won't go away from the rail? Or will he just go straight and not even turn at all and not even keep going around the ring and do the corners?

Sometimes if you try to bend their neck with one rein, they just look in the direction their head is turned but don't go that way with their body, in America we call that rubber necking, LOL. A teacher can show you how to use your outside leg and rein so the horse goes along with his body, the direction his nose is pointed.

Sometimes they don't want to turn and make a circle into the middle of the ring and leave the rail and turn. That is some outside rein and leg too a lot of the time. Some people say the secret of riding is in the outside rein, LOL.

Sometimes they are being stubborn and sometimes the rider is not telling them what to do in a clear way. Sometimes the rider is doing ok but the horse just doesn't listen, that really happens a lot if the horse is a big naughty and smart. Or if it is a pony, a pony always seems to be naughty and too smart, LOL. You have to be smarter than a pony, LOL.

Someone needs to be there and watch you ride and see just what is going wrong. It could be so many different things. An instructor can help.

I like your determination, good luck to you.
