I ride mostly English but also a little western. My horse rides English and does fine with an western saddle but how would a horse that normally does a loose snaffle do in a curb bit? How does the two bits change and how do i go about training her? Thank you for your time!!

Personally I wouldn't change her bit. If she does fine with a snaffle then I wouldn't worry about it.

Are you planning on showing your horse?

If you are just fun ridding, I see no problem with using your english bridle with western saddle IF and ONLY IF you are not showing.

If you are showing I would try to get some different types of bits from friends that have LIGHT ports or even a tomb thumb. If your horse is used to a snaffle, a short shanked tom thumb might work best for him/her.

Good luck.
