I have been offered this really great field to keep my horse in, the surrounding area is great for hacking and there is a really good flat area perfect for schooling. The only problem is that there is no stable/shelter. The horse i may be getting is a native (Welsh Sec. D) but i would still like to have a stable incase she's ever ill and needs to go on box rest or something like that. Also, if something happens to the field (ie poisonous plants start growing and i need a while to weed them out, broken fence) then the horse will have to stay in an enclosed area. The owner of the field has said that if we wanted a stable we would have to get one built ourselves. Does anyone have any idea of how much this may cost? I'm not wanting to get a big barn or anything, just a single stable (like a shed...kinda). Or even just a shelter with a gate on it. All i want is a place to put my horse if ever she can't stay out! The shelter with a gate idea is probably best because then she can go in it if she likes at night too.

http://www.stablewise.com/construction.html Hey, I think I might have picked up that link from here but I've read the whole site and it has a ton of information (including prices) on different types of barns and stables. You might find some information on there. They have a lot of different types of layouts, and if you find one you like I'm sure you could go to a store and get an estimate. I hope that helps.
