A horse at my barn has lymes disease, which has been causing lameness in him. One other horse has had chronic lameness, but already has arthritis and my horse was lame for a week, then all better for three days and today he was dead lame. Do you think it could be lymes?

If anyone has information about this disease, signs, treatment, cost of treatment, or if you think it could be anything else please help. I'm really worried. I've ruled out foundering. All signs lead away from that.

Lyme disease comes from ticks that carry it. If you or your horse become infected with this, things to look for in your horse

-stiffness in neck and back
-Off his feet alot
-not eating/drinking
-Discharge comming from nose

in you the symtoms are the same, but with fluy symtoms also.

Be sure to check your hair, as well as your horses hair every day if you or your horse has been outside
