All of mine wear them 24 hours a day except for riding time. I have had no problems with them. I especially like them for hauling because they keep the horses' eyes safe from things flying into their eyes from other vehicles. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

i love them but i would get one that covers up their ears or get a separate ear cover cuz they get little bugs in there that make them blead and their ears become very sensitive! Welcome to the forum! im meredith

I used the fringe/whisk type on a camp mare who got strangles one summer. She recovered with a Thing about flies in her face that would incite her to rear. The fringe mask kept her calm & comfortable. She remained usable, only by staff members (just in case she reared again).

Love them, swear by them! Our Katie Pony wears one 24/7 because of her uevitis. My gelding wears one as well in the spring/summer when the bugs are unbearable. Ihe only draw back I have found is hunting for the *missing fly mask* in the field!! But well worth the hunt every now and then in order to protect my horse's eyes. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

most of our horses dont wear them, except the blind one cuz it shields the sun and helps him from smashing his head into things when the sun blinds him the rest of the way, but i still liek them, very good things, fly masks are

We use fly masks on all of our horses(even the foals). We use earless ones, they are called SuperMask, by Farnam. Their sizes are Horse X-Large XX-Large Arabian Yearling/POA Foal/Pony
We would never, not use a fly mask, I personally love them.
-------------------- Mares: Honey-buckskin(in-foal to a smutty buckskin stallion) BG-palomino/dunalino(foaled a beautiful filly) Dibby-dun(in-foal to a palomino stallion) Star Bucks-buttermilk buckskin(not bred, we may just use her as a riding horse)
Fillies: Lizzy-grulla(will be used as a broodmare in the future, due to an injury as a weanling...we are unsure if she will be riding sound, although she might be, as her injury has healed so well...you can't even tell) Sheba-black(hopefully will be shown in Halter classes starting this year) Blue-blue roan(we aren't too sure what we are going to do with this filly yet....but she is a cutie)
Geldings: Poco-sorrel/overo*Paint*(Awesome riding horse!) Brandy-*FOR SALE*(Nice 2 yr old, going into training soon, price will go up, feel free to ask me about him..if you are interested)
Foals: Tinker Bell- Red dun filly. Nice short neck, long legs, beautiful eyes..absolutely beautiful. Very people friendly.
Other 2 foals are expecting between May and June.

I use the "Crusader" masks with the optional noseguard (to protect a pink nose from sunburn). I keep the masks on the outdoor horses 24/7 in bug season (fly spray too) taking them off to itch their faces every day then putting them back on. All of our other horses are turned out with masks and fly spray too. The masks all have ears ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

I used to use them, but I guess I got a way from them, for no particular reason. I had people tell me about bees and bugs getting inside and irritating them when stuck, but it never happened to me. I may consider getting one for my colt, his eyes have been watery, and it may be drainage from the dust in the air (dirt road and near road construciton), or it could be that he may be sensitive to those bugs. I only worry that the other geldings will look at it as a play mask and take it off him and play tug of war.....this stuff is common with them.
