I never thought I'd breed her to a paint stud, but I fell madly in love with this boy.

PLUS HE's AFFORDABLE FOR ME!!!

Please critique him... I think he's AWESOME, but ya know!

His front end doesn't look balanced with his back end. His front hooves also appear to be very dished. Can't tell from the pic if it's a conformational flaw or a trimming/care problem. His pasterns are also pretty long. They don't have a photo to acurately judge conformation by. That's something that they should want to show of since they claim him to be the "Perfect Breeding Stallion" and to be "very straight legged, and conformationally correct." That's a lot to say without a picture to back it up.

I think his chest is good, his hooves do dish, but I'm sure it's a shoeing problem, and the pasterns are too long in my opinion, I have a horse with pasterns about that long and she's fine. Coolie's a bit too compact in the pastern for my tastes as she is almost strait, so longer pasterns on the stud would be better.

Over all I think he's good, would definately correct Coolie's confo faults.... I e-mail Rusty and asked for better Confo pics. I am going to show the stud to my dad tonight!!! YAY!

Also, I am interested if anyone knows of any studs with a fee under $400.00 that ships semen. Because I will look at all, but they have to be in my price range for the year! I want to breed her no later than next month though!

Did you ever think of breeding Coolie to a TB, I don't know the breeds you are thinking about, but they seem to cross nicely, from the ones I have seen here. If you are just looking at AQHA and APHA, I dunno. Did you try the search engines like Equine.com? I know you are great with dreamhorse, but there are also auctions where you can buy breedings for like half-price (usually some university college will put them on). I think LSU has them.

As far that stud, I like his color (drool), but his head looks a little short to me, so do his legs, but that might just be the way I looked at them. Which ever stallion you choose I am sure will be a great cross.

I found this one, but you might have already seen him.

missn no chex

Here is the auction he is at:

Of course here is another auction...

I don't care for Appendix's very much so I'm strictly looking at APHA and AQHA, FQHA and NFQHA!

I'll check out the Chex horse....

I need a short head because Coolie's is LONG, and as far as the legs go, I don't mind shorter legs, if I get a tall 'un great, but I'm not breeding for size, I'm breeding for temperment, good conformation, and agility.. and all the foals out of Coolie are agile, and Storm looks agile also.... His color is awesome, and I like his short , but big head!

He looks pretty nice. We breed Quarter Horses, so I am not the one to ask about Paint's pedigree. But he looks well muscled, and he must be friendly with those pics of that little girl bending down by him and pulling his tail!!!! Not all horses will let you do that! From the pics I love his markings, they are presented almost like someone is shining alight on them, it looks cool. But, anyways, I think hes pretty.

--------------------
Mares:
Honey-buckskin(in-foal to a smutty buckskin stallion)
BG-palomino/dunalino(foaled a beautiful filly)
Dibby-dun(in-foal to a palomino stallion)
Star Bucks-buttermilk buckskin(not bred, we may just use her as a riding horse)

Fillies:
Lizzy-grulla(will be used as a broodmare in the future, due to an injury as a weanling...we are unsure if she will be riding sound, although she might be, as her injury has healed so well...you can't even tell)
Sheba-black(hopefully will be shown in Halter classes starting this year)
Blue-blue roan(we aren't too sure what we are going to do with this filly yet....but she is a cutie)

Geldings:
Poco-sorrel/overo*Paint*(Awesome riding horse!)
Brandy-*FOR SALE*(Nice 2 yr old, going into training soon, price will go up, feel free to ask me about him..if you are interested)

Foals:
Tinker Bell- Red dun filly. Nice short neck, long legs, beautiful eyes..absolutely beautiful. Very people friendly.

Other 2 foals are expecting between May and June.

No this is not my friends stud, I didn't like him too good, he's not stocky enough, looks to TB like, want stocky for Coolie...

Horse_crazy: He has alot of good QH studs in his ped.. so you might look at his pedigree page! Tell me what you think! The whole little kid thing, really made me think hard about him, before I even checked his confo REAL good. I too totally love his markings!!!

Collie: I didn't tell you because I just found him in school!

For some reason I just don't like this guy. He doesn't seem to be put together right. His head puts me off the most. The one thing I do like is his colour. That is awesome. However, putting him to your mare may make a compatible mix.

Yeah, She's long backed, long faced, extremely short pasterns, very maleish looking... He'll add all the perfect refinement, and possibly color!

Well, now that you describe your mare it sounds like you might get inbetween progeny which would most probably make a rather nice looking horse. If he's true to colour that would make it all the better [Smile]

I like your paint. Here are the ones that I have in my favorite studs folder.

They dont have any good pics of him and he is a bit more than you wanted BUT look at how FAB his babies are (IMO) Aceys Bar Leo

This one is still my fav out of the bunch. Just something about him. Ranch Bars Magnolia
Here is the stables where he is at they have some nice paints there as well. J & J Paints and Quarter Horses

I love this guys color and if you look on the For sale page you will see some of his get and his dads get. Valentine Sky Seeker
His dad is a bit compact but seems to throw fabulous babies. Mr. Clyde Hancock

Hi Hon!

I'm posting here since I can't call you until this weekend when the minutes are free! LOL I wanted to let you know I didn't forget about you [Big Grin] I personally do not care for this stud at all, BUT the proof is in the pudding. I would ask to see pictures and video if possible of his babies.

There's a Pinto Oldenburg we're going to see (didn't get to last weekend because of the rain) that looks just awful in pictures and on video. BUT he throws on all the genes of his sire, Art Deco to the babies. The babies come out 10 times more beautiful and athletic than he is himself.

So, I would definitely check into his babies, if he has any. If not, I wouldn't breed to him. But then we've never allowed any of our mares to be "test" mares on unproven stallions, because you just can't take a chance like that.

Good luck and I'll call you Saturday after WE GET MONSTER HOME!! Will you be home???
