My surprise baby (ie, I didn't know my mare was in foal when I bought her) is 8 weeks old today! Here's her 8 week photo, along with her photo when she was a few hours old so you can see the difference [Smile]

She is so sweet! What breed is she? She looks like a keeper. Do you know who the sire is? Will you be able to get her registered?

I think mum is a connemara X TB, no idea of daddy's breeding, all I know is that he was a coloured horse (brown & white not sure of the US term!) It's been estimated that she'll make around 16hh. She was a nice little surprise, anything could have popped out! The only society i'll be able to register her with is the British Coloured Horse and Pony Society (CHAPS), they have special classes at selected shows. I was hoping to do a bit of in hand showing with her next year as a yearling and see how she gets on. Her mum has just turned 3 so as soon as Pandora is weaned off I can start breaking her in at last!

She sure was a nice surprise! Over here we don't go by the color of a pinto as much as the pattern. So, to us here in the US she would be a bay and white tobiano. She looks good from both sides of the pond!! I was going to say she looked like she might be a Gypsy Vanner or British Drum horse cross, but she has no feathering on her feet. She is sure cute.
Thanks for posting her picture.
