Ok, so, I am going to go look at Maxwell NH tomorrow. I was wondering if you guys could help me out and give me some good questions to ask. I know kinda what I want to ask, but I don't want to come across as sounding immature, ignorant, stupid, etc. I know I do here sometimes, I don't know a lot of terminology.

Horse is there a photo of the stallion on here somewhere?
Just an important question off the top of my head is what's his temprement like, but that's an obvious one.
Is there a photo with his merits on?
OK I see pages, which page is he on? Jane [ April 09, 2004, 10:22 AM: Message edited by: CANDYGIRL ]

He is close to the last. His owner told me that he doesn't act studly at all. Very easy to handle. I will see that for myself. His pic isn't that good but I will get some better ones. She said there are 5 of his foals there for me to look at as well, so I will get some pics of those. I just don't want to sound stupid when I go. I know I will have to curb my talking too much habit. I just want to have some really good questions. I know a lot about the breed and standards, but sometimes I just can't figure out how to word things.

Here's some questions and ideas off the top of my head....
Temperment wise, have the person lead him around, YOU pet(as long as the owner lets you...but they should.)
Can I see some of his babies?
What typically happens(the outcome...or foal) when he is bred to a spirited or calm mare(depending on what your mare is like)?
Is he up to date on all vaccines? negative coggins?
(say to the owner) In your opinion what is the worst thing that you have seen this stallion pass on to his foal(s)?
Has a had a certain color percentage bred to(your mares color)?
(you can look yourself on this stuff) straight legs? nice body build...to whatever extent you are looking for. Good overall body conditiona dn conformation.
Hmm....what else? Cant think of anything else right now...off of the top of my head. Good luck!
-------------------- Mares: Honey-buckskin(in-foal to a smutty buckskin stallion) BG-palomino/dunalino(foaled a beautiful filly) Dibby-dun(in-foal to a palomino stallion) Star Bucks-buttermilk buckskin(not bred, we may just use her as a riding horse)
Fillies: Lizzy-grulla(will be used as a broodmare in the future, due to an injury as a weanling...we are unsure if she will be riding sound, although she might be, as her injury has healed so well...you can't even tell) Sheba-black(hopefully will be shown in Halter classes starting this year) Blue-blue roan(we aren't too sure what we are going to do with this filly yet....but she is a cutie)
Geldings: Poco-sorrel/overo*Paint*(Awesome riding horse!) Brandy-*FOR SALE*(Nice 2 yr old, going into training soon, price will go up, feel free to ask me about him..if you are interested)
Foals: Tinker Bell- Red dun filly. Nice short neck, long legs, beautiful eyes..absolutely beautiful. Very people friendly.
Other 2 foals are expecting between May and June.

Also, I forgot to add in...In the owners opinion what is thew best thing that he(the stallion) passes on to his foals.

Well, she has alread said that. He passes on his movement the best. I have to see him moving though. She said all of his foals have a great trot and suspension. We'll see about that and the other gaits.
