I gelded my colt today. I'm not sure if I made the right decision or not, but I can't change it now. Just thought I'd let everyone know since I posted a forum on this before.

It is a good decision. You'll realize it after you find out you can do TONS more with him than if he was a stallion. Like open shows, trail rides, etc. Most of those don't like stallions around.

Horses should not be treated as people. They should be respected for who they are and what they are capable of doing!

you will see a difference in a couple of weeks. it will definitly be good for you. my 3yr old was gelded last winter. he gained weight and mass. he also became a lot easier to handle and train. if you don't plan on breeding, you should definitly geld.

[Smile] You will quickly see that you did not make a mistake! It takes good stallion to make a GREAT gelding and you will soon discover what a great gelding you now have!
Sometime in the future, when you are ready, and you have a colt that is truly stallion material you will know it and will not have any doubts or questions!
Until that times comes you will have a ball enjoying this gelding! [Wink]
