This is the most interesting one I've seen. I found it doing an Image search on Google.

You know you are a horse person when...
...You pull change from your pocket , and hay falls out.
...you yell at the kids, and the horse's name pops out.
...you actually get to a point where flies don't bother you so much.

That is interesting. I have never seen that one before. Just wondering if they said what that braid is used for. Could you imagine how long it takes to do that [Roll Eyes]

That is called a waffle braid. It is seen on Andalusians and is often done on gaming horses (in US, barrel racing, poles, etc.) to keep the mane out of the way of the reins. It does take a while to do, but it looks really HOT [Big Grin]

It is also used in the arabian circuit for dressage and hunter (as an alternative to the normal french braid).

hi~
that is called a continental braid. I do it on my QH gelding as he has a long mane. It can work for western and english so I don't have to hurry up and switch his hair style at open shows. There are pics of it at this link: http://palominosrock.tripod.com/tabathaswebsite/id2.html

It takes about an hour but it is well worth it.
