Champion tails has a great stain remover that is excellent for making tails white. See their site at www.championtails.com

Ahh I see. I know there is a natural method but it isn't coming to me at the moment. I will have to do some digging.

I wouldn't do bleach, wil dry out the tail, thats the last thing you need YOU can try woolite, or baking soda and water mixed together to form a runny paste. Braid, put in tail sock to keep it clean. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Oooh the scarey bleach again Not for me.
I use the old fashioned type soap washing bar, we call it F airy over here, it is the one used to scrub white shirt collers clean, pure and natural.
If you look at my homepage and look at Showing Photos of Hollybush Picollo, you won't get much cleaner than that for a silver tail - not bragging, just sharing what works for me LOL ![[Applaud]](graemlins/applaud.gif)

Try Peroxide, leave in a few minutes, rinse out, then condition. I use it on my chestnut with flaxen mane & tail.

I know in human hair that lemon juice will bleach your hair out but dont know if it works on horses. It will dry out the hair though like bleech and peroxide.

in reposnse to your PM, one part white vinegar to three parts water and pour liberally over the tail ensuring it is saturated. Leave for about 15 - 20 minutes and shampoo and condition as usual.

Yeah I've tried laundry detergent before, it works pretty good, the best thing I've tried though is quicsilver, but I know you don't want to buy anything. Good luck! ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
