I'm not following...why do you want to absorb sweat? Why don't you just rinse your horse off, or give him a good grooming? If you are in a cold climate you can 'thatch' your horse for a few hours and then come back to him and groom.

I would rather simply rinse the horse off with plain old water. If I have really given the horse a pretty hard work out, or am getting a horse into or back into condition I also like to apply with a big sponge a nice bracing rinse(after the sweat is all hosed off). My personal favorite is Absorbine RefreshMint...I buy that stuff buy the gallon! I love the smell and any horse I use it on seems to really appreciate it too...! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

personally I think it would be better to add ELECTROLYES to your horses drinking water after hard work.
This will restore the body salts, fluids etc your horse looses during such hard work which are lost through sweating.
Endurance an X country horses are given water with added electrolytes after an event.
They are not expensive can be bought by the tub or sachet. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

In my eyes its better to just hose them off...less time! lol And there are no chemicals.

Electrolytes are not chemicals, they are natural body salts.
Body salts are lost during extreme excercise and need to be replaced.
Removing sweat with a hose or sponge is fine, but if the excersice is realy hard, the salts need to be replaced back into the horses body.
