If the horse has inherited the greying gene from the sire or dam your outta luck...the black will slowly grey out. [Frown]
Some Paints and Pintos do get a bit of roaning in places but as to how roaning occurs much really depends again on what genes it inherited.

Still why not just feed your horse paprika and make what ever color your horse is or ends up look super?
It is the main ingredient in Cheval's coat products such as Black As Night.
Paprika does intensify color of any coat and it's a lot cheaper.
Just feed 1 tbsp. morning and night

[Smile] No secrets here....
It is common knowledge that paprika is one of the ingredients in Cheval's coat products.

Jumpers, we have discussed Cheval's coat products on the Iberian and Arabian Horse Forums several times.
Several of the forum members have been feeding their horses paprika for quiet a while now and have found that the color of their horse's is more vibrant when doing so.

That is the amount that was mentioned in the process of the discussion. I honestly don't know how they came up with the amount. It seems to be the amount most of the people using Paprika feed.
I do know that the Iberian group has a DVM who also practices Holistic Veterinary Care if there was anything wrong with feeding paprika to horses or that amount she would be letting the group know about it.

It is as with anything else you see, read or hear about....it is up to each person to decide what is right for them and their animals.... [Wink]

I have almost the same problem. My horse is a hard to describe color (maybe marble black). He is turning brown. Try using black color enchancer and blanket him with a sun proof blanket. I just orderd one and i am going to try it out.

Okay I'm going to try this out. My little yearling buckskin is shedding out his winter coat that is very pale and is coming in a nice gold, hopefully this will help him keep that nice gold. I will also give it to my yearling paint she had a hard time with sun bleaching last summer. I won't leave out my big lovely bay 9 year old.
