I show my mustang in reining and he used to have a beautiful long flowing mane but over the winter I had to put a winter blanket on him and it rubbed a chunk out of his mane! I have a show in three weeks and I don't know what I'm going to do. Please give me tips because I've heard you can braid in tail hairs, does anyone know how to do that?

I don't know about braiding in tail hairs but Shapley's MTG works wonders with getting hair to grow fast.

This site has mane extensions/additions you can put on you horse. Maybe they could help explain what you need to do and how to do it!

i wouldnt worry about it to much...where abouts has it rubbed of because you might just be able to plait the mane and be able to hide it!
if it has rubbed by the whiters then go on this website http://www.bossysbibs.com they are made to stop rug rubs and to make hair grow back i no that is no help to you as its already happened but ecleast it wouldnt happen again!!!

Usually you have to get a professional to do extensions (use tail hair). It cost $500 the last time I did it to one of my horse's tails, and it took about 6 hours.

My Horse sticks his head through the fence to eat grass, and always rubs a part of his mane so its shorter than the rest...hes english though so we just pull the rest to match the length and you cant tell...too bad your horse has a long mane though. Depending on where it is, it shouldnt matter much as long as the show isnt really highly rated. Good luck with it though!

Ha, i have a mustang (well he might be a mustang) and he has a long beuatiful black and white mane, but before i got him he rubbed his neck on the fence tring to get hay. I just let it grow and it is almost the same length as the rest of it now.

Try a mane extension. Otherwise your out of luck. Manes and tails dont grow like weeds.
